WAYNESBURG – A man on the Greene County Sheriff’s most wanted list for five outstanding warrants turned himself in Tuesday.

Timothy Allen Hilverding, 24, of Fonner Run Road, Sycamore, told Sheriff Brian Tennant someone had shown him the 10 most wanted list on the Observer-Reporter website, included his name and that prompted him to surrender.

Four outstanding warrants against Hilverding were for failure to appear at a hearing Jan. 31 regarding delinquent payments of old court costs. The costs stemmed from multiple cases dating back to 2006 when Hilverding was a juvenile. The fifth warrant was issued for Hilverding’s failure to appear at a formal arraignment Dec. 23 on charges of theft by unlawful taking.

In that case, Hilverding and an alleged accomplice are accused of stealing batteries from vehicles owned by Force Inc., of Stewart Hill Road, Waynesburg and Anthony Stockdale of Braden St., Waynesburg while parked in the Classy Cuts Plaza Oct. 29. Hilverding is scheduled for plea court at 1 p.m. March 14 for these charges.

Hilverding was placed in Greene County jail Tuesday afternoon. He was subsequently released on his own recognizance Wednesday after facing Judge William Nalitz, who vacated the warrants and ordered him to pay $100 per month on the outstanding debt or be returned to jail until it is paid in full.

According to the Greene County clerk of courts office, Hilverding has a delinquent balance of $3,618.83. He has an additional up-to-date balance of $1,791.50 for a Dec. 11 guilty plea for a theft by unlawful taking charge from May 16.
