Southeastern Greene approves contract
MAPLETOWN – Southeastern Greene School Board, at a meeting Monday that was recessed from its Jan. 30 board meeting, voted to approve a new five-year contract with the district’s nonprofessional employees.
The contract covers 24 employees including maintenance and cafeteria staff, aides and secretaries. The contract includes wage increases averaging about 2 percent a year, said district business manager Pat Sweeney.
Under the contract, employees will accept a wage freeze for the first half of the first year and then receive a 5-cent an hour wage increase for the second half of the year. In the second through fifth year, wage increases are 25 cents, 35 cents, 40 cents and 45 cents, Sweeney said.
The contract has already been ratified by the employees, Sweeney said.
