Lions Club honors two students
ROGERSVILLE – West Greene Area Lions Club named two West Greene High School seniors – Rebecca Phillips and Dalton Wildman – as its outstanding students of the month.
Phillips, daughter of Shane and Linette Phillips of Sycamore, is captain of the cross country club, rifle and track and field teams. She is a member of the science club, president of the chemistry club and corresponding secretary of the National Honor Society.
Phillips was a WPIAL qualifier in cross country, rifle and track and field, as well as section champion and PIAA state qualifier in track.
She received academic scholar, scholar athlete and citizenship awards, as well as the Consol Energy Academic Excellence Award. This fall, she was named the Centennial Chevrolet Scholar/Athlete.
Outside of school, she attends Ryerson Baptist Church, where she assists with the nursery. She is an 11-year member of the Greene County 4-H Market Steer Club and an eight-year member of the Greene County 4-H Goat Club, serving as vice president.
Phillips plans to attend St. Francis University and major in physician assistant science and participate in cross country and track.
Wildman, son of Dale and Jessica Wildman of Waynesburg, is a member of the science club, chemistry club and envirothon team, and participates in football, wrestling, baseball and track.
He received two citizenship awards, is a two-time all-conference football player, two-time West Greene offensive football player of the year and received the most improved wrestler award in 2013.
He attended the WPIAL Sportsmanship Summit and was named West Greene’s Fall Chevrolet Centennial Scholar/Athlete, male representative.
Wildman plans to attend Washington & Jefferson College and major in biology to become a physical therapist.
