Salary board fills slots in sheriff’s department
WAYNESBURG – Acting on motions from Sheriff Brian Tennant, the Greene County Salary Board Thursday approved the hiring of several people to fill slots within the department.
Michael Gyuirke and James Sabo were hired as casual sheriff deputies at $12 an hour, and then the board approved the promotion of Sabo to a regular full-time sheriff’s deputy at $13.92 an hour.
Also hired as casual sheriff deputies were Tony Gismondi, John Weaver and Shawn Wood at $12 an hour. Two regular full-time deputies also were hired. They were Zachary Martsolf and Thomas Nichols at $13.92 an hour.
The salary board also hired Patrick Fitch as a temporary full-time assistant public defender at $41,582 a year and then promoted him to regular full-time assistant public defender.
Rebecca Harris was promoted to serve as the county’s human resources director a $47,500 a year, replacing Tracy Sheehan Zivkovich, director of human resources for Greene County since 2000, who resigned effective Jan. 31 to assume a similar position in Westmoreland County.
In a related matter pertaining to human resources, Cara Cox was promoted to human resources specialist at $30,000 a year.
In personnel issues dealing with Children and Youth, the board:
• Promoted Crystal Barrett from caseworker 1 to caseworker 2 at $22.37 an hour, and promoted Keshia Shelott and Amanda Smouse from caseworkers 1 to caseworkers 2 at $22.16 an hour;
• Promoted Renee Imhoff from social service aide 1 to social service aide 2 at $14.27 an hour;
• Promoted Patricia Reynolds to fiscal technician II at $16.21 an hour;
• Hired Chelsea Cyr as a full-time caseworker 1 at $18.16 an hour.
In personnel issues dealing with the county jail, the board:
• Promoted Kiley Cain to regular part-time corrections officer at $14.02 an hour;
• Accepted the resignations of Davida Romanakis and James Osborne as a corrections officer and part-time corrections officers, respectively.
In personnel matters dealing with the department of recreation, the board:
• Accepted the resignation of Tammy Roberts as a seasonal clerk at Mon View Roller Rink;
• Hired Damien Riley as a seasonal skate guard at Mon View at $7.25 an hour.
In personnel matters dealing with human services, the board:
• Promoted Allicia Basinger from caseworker 1 to caseworker 2 at $22.37 an hour;
• Promoted Jennifer Jones from caseworker 1 to caseworker 2 atr $22.16 an hour;
• Hired Jaclyn Lutz as a regular full-time caseworker/support coordinator at $18.16 an hour.
