Police beat Feb. 28
Trespassing charge: California police said they charged Saqual Clark with criminal trespassing, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Police said Clark, 22, no address, broke into an apartment at 128 Ash St. while heavily intoxicated early Sunday morning, causing damage to the door and frame.
Home burglary: State police said they are investigating a burglary in the 2000 block of The Circle in Canton Township. Three Airsoft pistols and a fishing rod were stolen from the home between Jan. 17 and Feb. 17, police said.
Tractor-trailer crash: Jerry Detec, 63, of Campbell, Ohio, was cited for following too closely after state police said his tractor-trailer crashed into the rear of two other vehicles on Interstate 70 in Canton Township Wednesday. Police said Detec was traveling west on I-70 near the Chestnut Street exit shortly after 3 p.m. when he struck the other vehicles that were slowing for traffic, police said. No one was injured in the crash.
Harassment charge: Dave Newman, 33, of 20 Brookside Ave., Washington, was charged by North Franklin police with harassment and making terroristic threats for allegedly texting his wife Sunday and threatening to kill her and her family. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
DUI alleged in crash: A Muse man faces multiple charges following a two-car crash Wednesday night. Police said they were called to the accident at Thomas and Waterdam roads at 7:21 p.m. and were told by one of the drivers that the other drove away following an argument. Cecil Township police said they found the sport-utility vehicle involved in the crash about 30 minutes later and stopped the driver on Muse-Bishop Road. North Strabane police said they charged David A. Keirs, 55, of 39 Sycamore St., with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended license. The driver of the other car, Aaron Harris, 25, of Centerville, was not injured, but his car had to be towed.
Teen accused of making threat: State police said they plan to charge Bishop Toci, 18, of Eighty Four, with terroristic threats after he allegedly threatened a 16-year-old girl at Chippewa Golf Club in Somerset Township shortly after 3 p.m. Monday. Police said Toci told the girl he planned to bring a pistol to their school to shoot her, then threw a pencil that struck her below the eye.
Simple assault charge: Robert Lamar Lester Jr., 26, of 450 W. Chesnut St., Washington, was charged by city police with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly struck Sherman Brown in the face Wednesday at Brown’s residence on West Chesnut Street. Brown is the grandfather of Lester’s children, and police said Lester was demanding to take his children. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Harassment charge: Aujah Wade, 22, of 1090 Jefferson Ave., Washington, was charged by city police with harassment and defiant trespass for allegedly pushing Takisha David at her residence in the 400 block of Grove Avenue Wednesday. Police said Wade and another woman entered David’s yard, pushed her several times and left with David’s 2-year-old pit bull that was tied in the yard. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Burglary: Olivia Waters reported to city police that her Maple Terrace apartment was ransacked Wednesday between noon and 6 p.m. She said no items appeared missing, and a note was left behind. Police have a suspect.
