Three sexual assault cases held for court
Three men charged in separate sexual assault cases were held for court Wednesday after preliminary hearings in Washington County Central Court before District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Andrew Charles Maletta, 23, of 172 Brehm Road, is accused of having sex with a Westmoreland County girl at his North Strabane Township home, in his vehicle while it was parked in Ligonier and at a condominium at Seven Springs. Maletta was ordered to stand trial on nine counts each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault of a person under the age of 16 and one count of corruption of minors.
Township police decided to file all of the charges locally because the bulk of incidents occurred in North Strabane. The girl told investigators that Maletta would drive to her house and pick her up and take her to his home. She said the two started dating in May.
Maletta is free on a $50,000 unsecured bond.
Seyed Paiman Daneshkhah, 36, of Pittsburgh, is accused of raping a woman in his car while it was parked off Old Steubenville Pike in Robinson Township last August. The woman told police that she and some friends, including the defendant, were dancing at a nightclub, and that she accepted a ride from Daneshkhah back to her vehicle, which was parked in Steubenville, Ohio.
While on their way to Steubenville, he pulled off Routes 22/30 at the McDonald/Midway exit and pulled into a parking area off Old Steubenville Pike, where the woman claims he kissed, fondled and raped her. Daneshkhah was held for court on rape and indecent assault charges. He is free on a $5,000 bond.
Kevin J. Mickle, 35, is accused of raping a 5-year-old boy inside a Canton Township home more than a decade ago. The boy, now 17, told police that Mickle took him from his mother when he was 5 and regularly beat and raped him.
Mickle was held for court on rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault and corruption of minors charges. Mickle remains in Washington County jail on a $250,000 bond.
Court dates have not yet been set.
