Charleroi man sentenced to prison
A man who most recently lived in Charleroi has been sentenced to serve from 2 to 4 years in a state prison on charges of receiving stolen property and conspiracy to commit burglary.
William Williams, 35, who last lived on Washington Avenue, pleaded guilty before Judge John F. DiSalle to stealing a grinding tool owned by Matthew Horner from 707 McKean Ave. in February 2012. Charleroi police found the grinder at a Monessen resale business.
The judge ordered Williams to repay $10,000 to Horner for the tool.
Williams, who has an extensive criminal record, was transported from the State Correctional Institution at Mercer for the recent Washington County Court proceeding.
