Police charge four with burglary

2 min read

Four people are in Washington County jail after they were arrested Friday by Chartiers police for allegedly breaking into a Meadow Lands home and stealing guns, jewelry and prescription drugs.

Charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy are Stephen J. Murphy II, 21, of 50 1/2 Fifth St., Meadow Lands; Nathan S. Andreolli, 19, of 220 Regent St., Houston; Joseph Anthony Luisi, 19, of 180 Marshall Ave., Meadow Lands; and Michael A. Randolph, 117 Belmont Ave., Meadow Lands.

The quartet are accused of breaking into the home of Randolph’s neighbor early Thursday. The homeowner, Robin Majewski, 105 Belmont, was not at the residence when the quartet reportedly broke the glass in the front door and forced it open.

Township police Chief James M. Horvath said that a relative of one of the suspects came to the station Friday after seeing what they believed was stolen property.

Another relative, who lives in Kennedy Township, Allegheny County, told police that some of the weapons were dropped off at his home. He returned those guns to police.

“That was our main concern, getting the guns off the street,” Horvath said. “The relatives were fearful because of the guns, drugs and booze. They didn’t know what the four would do.”

Horvath believes they recovered most of the stolen items. Police recovered nine long guns, two pistols and a pellet gun along with some jewelry, prescription medication and some coins.

Police learned that Luisi and Randolph were returning to Murphy’s home and the route they were taking. They were taken into custody during a traffic stop on Barnickle Street and Arthurs Road about 11:45 a.m. Friday. Murphy and Andreolli were found at Murphy’s home.

Luisi and Randolph were arraigned Friday afternoon before District Judge David Mark. Murphy and Andreolli were arraigned Friday night before District Judge Ethan Ward. All four were placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond. Preliminary hearings will be held before Mark Jan. 23.
