Red Cross to offer disaster training program

1 min read

WAYNESBURG – The American Red Cross is ready to educate the Greene County community on disaster preparedness.

“Be Red Cross Ready” is an educational program that focuses on how to prepare for house fires, floods and winter weather

Attendees will be instructed how to make an emergency preparedness plan, what types of materials to stock in an emergency kit, as well as other information about the three types of emergencies listed above.

Becky Fry, a Red Cross preparedness training specialist, will be presenting the materials and is available to travel to the agencies, offices and community groups that would like to receive this education.

The program is no more than an hour long and is being provided free.

Any organization interested in this program can email Becky.Fry@redcross.org or call 412-263-3117.

The Red Cross, in association with the Greene County United Way, is hoping to do several presentations in the next few weeks to better prepare communities for this winter season.
