Residents evacuated after apartment fire in Washington

1 min read

Washington firefighters responded to an apartment fire around noon Monday at 15 North Main Street. Residents in the building were evacuated, and the fire was contained to one apartment.

Fire officials said the apartment’s occupant fell asleep while smoking, which caused the bedding and curtains to light on fire. The damage was minimal, and there were no reported injuries.
