Theft, receiving charges: Terry Lee Kover, 45, of 412 First Ave., New Eagle, was charged this week by Chartiers police with theft and receiving stolen property. He is accused of stealing a gas meter and pipe from Chartiers Natural Gas Co., 131 Plum Run Road, Nov. 18 and selling the items for scrap. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Assault charge: Jacqueline J. Summers, 38, of 731 Lincoln Ave., Monongahela, is charged by city police with simple assault and harassment, accused of throwing a cereal bowl at her boyfriend’s mother, Cheryl Ashton, about noon Saturday at 786 Kennedy St., court records show. The bowl caused a laceration to the victim’s lip, the affidavit states. Summers is free on $5,000 bond set Wednesday by District Judge Mark Wilson.

Theft, trespassing charges: Anthony Lee Cimino, 32, of 834 W. Grant St., Houston, was charged Tuesday by North Strabane police with theft and defiant trespass for allegedly stealing 30 bridge plates on two different occasions from Panthera Painting, 333 Morganza Road, North Strabane police said. A vehicle is caught on surveillance video Oct. 26 and Nov. 10 pulling into the fenced yard and a man is seen putting the plates, valued at $120 each, into the vehicle. Cimino reportedly sold the plates at two different scrap yards. He told police he needed the money to support a drug habit. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Charged in two crimes: Levi E. Cutshall, 24, of 62 Victoria St., Washington, was arraigned via video Wednesday on the theft of items from Walmart, Trinity Point, Nov. 13 and Jan. 16. On Nov. 13, he reportedly stole items worth $203 and gave them to a woman, who returned them for a gift card. On Jan. 16, he reportedly used a crowbar to access two Galaxy tablets that he stole from the store. Cutshall, who was placed in Washington County jail Tuesday on a probation warrant, was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on two counts of retail theft and one count each of receiving stolen property and possessing instruments of a crime. Bond was set at $10,000.

False ID, paraphernalia charges: Janaya Chanel Hampton, 22, of Pittsburgh, face more charges filed by state police stemming from a traffic stop on Interstate 79 over the weekend. She was a passenger in a car stopped for speeding. Police arrested her as a fugitive from justice after learning she was wanted in Monongalia County, W.Va., on drug charges. Police said she initially gave a different name and said she was 17. Police also found her with paraphernalia. Charges of false identification and possession of paraphernalia were filed at the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
