Greensboro Farmers’ Market on tap today
GREENSBORO – People planning to do their weekly grocery shopping should consider taking advantage of the Greensboro Farmers’ Market held each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Gazebo Park on First Street on the banks of the Monongahela River.
Today’s market should include many of the items usually added to the weekly grocery list, including fresh vegetables, meat, dairy products, breads and baked goods, jelly and soap.
This week, Harden’s Farms and Brian’s Tomatoes will be at the market with fresh tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers and other vegetables. Harden’s also will be bringing its sweet yellow corn.
Willow Tree Farms will have fresh ground meat and other products and Harden’s Farms and Willow Tree Farm will have local eggs. A variety of cheese will be available from Emerald Valley Cheeses.
Willow Tree Farms will also have baked goods, including, pies, donuts, bread and more.
Black Cat Valley Farms will be on hand to offer its local jellies. Organic, unscented soap also will be available to purchase.
Those who come to the market hungry can also enjoy breakfast or lunch from Hash Browns and the New Grounds Food truck.
The weekly farmers’ market is organized by the Nathanael Greene Historical Foundation and the Greensboro Elm Street Project.
