Purple Heart Chapter 34 of Greene County will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Waynesburg Veterans of Foreign Wars. All members are asked to attend.
Filer-Sadlek Post 954, American Legion, Jefferson, will conduct a flag retirement ceremony at the post home at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The public is invited to attend and bring any soiled or unserviceable flags to be disposed in a proper manner. The public may drop of the flags in the box on the east side of the post home.
Morgan Township Society of Farm Women will meet at noon Wednesday at the Calvary Baptist Church. President Audrey Jacobs will preside and Lovella Burns will serve as hostess for the covered-dish luncheon. June Shriver will lead devotions. Roll call will be answered to, “Do you think summer will be a drier season?”
Country music will be featured from 7 to 10 p.m. June 14 at the New Freeport fire hall. Bands scheduled to appear are Brad Crow and the Cutups and Ambassadors for Christ. Cost is $4 and the event is sponsored by the ladies auxiliary.
Waynesburg High School Class of 1950 will hold its annual get-together at 5 p.m. July 12 at Rohanna’s. Dinner will be ordered from the menu.
