WAYNESBURG – The Family Literacy and Children’s Departments at the Eva K. Bowlby Public Library are teaming up this month to offer community members a workshop for families on fire prevention and safety.

This Saturday beginning at 10 a.m., volunteers from Center Township Fire Department will be demonstrating fire safety equipment, smoke alarms, the “stop, drop & roll” technique for children, and Sparky the fire dog will also be in attendance to entertain and share fire safety tips to the children.

Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department will be bringing one of its fire engines to the library and offering a “hands on” tour of the truck.

The Keep Me Safe series is an annual event in June, and is free to all citizens in the area.

The Keep Me Safe series is designed for family members to participate together, along with activities, crafts and snacks.

You can register your family by calling the library at 724-627-9776.
