Washington High School will hold its commencement ceremonies for 85 graduates at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the high school gymnasium.

Valedictorian is Ethan East and salutatorian is Julianne Rotunda. Both students will speak at the commencement.

East is a son of Robert and Angeline East of Washington.

East achieved the BASH Scholarship, Rotary Club Scholarship, high honors and Student of the Month. He served as president of National Honor Society, drum major of the marching band and was member of steel band, district band and county band.

He plans to attend Brown University to pursue a degree in pre-medicine.

Rotunda is a daughter of Frank Rotunda and Tracie Rotunda-Graham, both of Washington.

Rotunda achieved the American Legion Award, PA Scholarship, high honors and Student of the Month as well as the Good Neighbor Award and Scholars Award at Washington & Jefferson College. She served as vice president of student council, senior class president, National Honor Society treasurer, and was a member of the prom committee, homecoming committee, Intermediate Unit 1 student forum, Italian-American Cultural and Heritage Society of Washington and SHALE Academy. She danced at the Sandra Kay Mesler Dance Studio and volunteered as a dance teacher.

She will attend Washington & Jefferson College to study engineering and minor in Spanish.
