Cedar Point remains closed after water main break

1 min read

SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) — Ohio’s most popular amusement park remained closed Sunday because of a water main break in the city of Sandusky.

Park officials closed Cedar Point on Saturday after the water main break disrupted its primary water supply.

Park officials say a lack of reliable water poses safety risks, and that visitors’ tickets would be honored on future dates this season.

Cedar Point sees more than 3 million visitors a year, making it the most visited amusement park in Ohio. Kings Island near Cincinnati is second.

According to the website of owner Cedar Fair Entertainment Co., Cedar Point is believed to be the largest seasonal amusement park in the U.S. That’s measured by the number of rides and attractions and the hourly ride capacity.

The park expects to reopen Monday.
