Household chemical collection planned

1 min read

Area residents will have the chance to safely displose of common household chemicals at a collection event on July 12 at California University of Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania Resources Council, in partnership with the Washington County Planning Commission, will hold the event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Adamson Stadium, near the campus. Among the items collected are cleaners, paints, stains and varnishes, batteries, motor oil, pesticides and other products.

Residents will pay $2 a gallon to dispose of the materials. A certified contractor will be on site to process the hazardous wastes collected. For more information, visit prc.org or call the planning commission at 724-228-6811 or PRC at 412-488-7452.
