PennDOT announces work schedule
Greene County Maintenance Manager Jerome Simkovic announced the following tentative work plan for next week. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.
The schedule is as follows:
• Culvert pipe reconstruction is being conducted on Route 1021 Crucible Road in Cumberland Township.
• Major slide repair and ditch cleaning activities continue on Route 2023, Rocky Run Road in Dunkard Township.
• Shoulder cutting and grading activities continue on Route 3001, Aleppo/Windy Gap Road and Route 3016, McCracken Road in Aleppo Township.
• Drainage pipe installation and repair will resume on Route 3001, Day Road, Richhill Township.
• Shoulder stabilization actions are planned for Route 21, West Roy Furman Highway.
•Patching will begin on Route 19/2003 in Mt. Morris.
• Pipe and inlet flushing are scheduled for Route 88 between Sheetz and Carmichaels in Cumberland Township.
• Inlet repairs resume on Route 88 between West End Garage and True Value Hardware in Dry Tavern.
• State roads will be reviewed and signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced and concerns addressed on various state roads throughout the county.
SCI-Greene will conduct roadside litter pick up operations on Route 18, Browns Creeks Road, from the intersection with Route 21 to the Morris Township building
PennDOT has a 24-hour toll free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concerns. This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.
