Franklin Twp. supervisors move to condemn house
WAYNESBURG – Franklin Township supervisors agreed Monday to proceed with the condemnation of a dilapidated manufactured home at 205 McNay Hill Road. Steve Coss, township code enforcement officer, said he has been after the owner of the property, the City Mortgage Co., to do something with the house for about two years.
The front yard has slipped and caused the house to move, he said. “The house is ready to fall off its piers,” he said.
The property will be posted for 90 days and if the owner fails within that time to bring the property into compliance, the township will hire a contractor to demolish the structure, Coss said.
A lien will then be placed on the property in an attempt by the township to recoup the condemnation and demolition costs.
