1 min read

MONONGAHELA – Mon Valley Hospital on Friday announced it had reached a new contract with the union representing half of its nearly 1,200 employees.

The hospital said members of United Steelworkers Local 8041 approved the new 3-year contract Thursday by a nearly three-to-one margin at Donora fire hall.

The union represents the hospital’s technical staff, nursing assistants and unit clerks, and laundry, nutrition, food, housekeeping and maintenance staffs.

The existing contract ends Monday.

Neither side announced the details of salary and benefits outlined in the pact.

“We deeply appreciate the extensive efforts of both negotiating teams,” hospital President and Chief Executive Officer Louis J. Panza Jr. said in a news release.
