CARMICHAELS – Mara Phillips, a senior at Carmichaels Area High School, was named girl of the month for March by the Carmichaels Area Women’s Civic Club.

Phillips, daughter of Williams Phillips, Carmichaels, is a member of SkillsUSA, is vice president of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America and is secretary of the National Technical Honor Society.

Outside of school, she coaches elementary basketball, is a member of the 4-H Market Swine Club and California University’s Upward Bound program.

Phillips plans to attend the Community College of Allegheny County and earn an associate’s degree in early education and child development.
