Washington County Farm Bureau’s Women’s Committee recently announced its Safety Contest for 2014. The theme of this year’s contest is ” Safer, Smarter on the Farm.” The contest is open to any youth in the county and is not restricted to family of WCFB members.

Different age groups are eligible to participate in different aspects of the contest. A coloring contest is open to any youth ages 4 to 6; a safety poster drawing contest is available for ages 7 to 12 years old; and a safety essay contest is open to any youth 13 to 18 years of age. There is also a safety webpage contest open to the 13-to-18-year-old age bracket.

All entries must be postmarked by May 5 to be considered for the contest. County winners for each contest and age group will receive a monetary prize and will have their winning design displayed at Ag Progress Days and the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau annual meeting.

Entries may be mailed to Lisa Wherry, 526 Spring Valley Road, Scenery Hill, PA 15360.

Downloads and a full list of rules are available at www.pfb.com/safetycontests. Any additional questions may be directed to Wherry by calling 724-255-1943.
