Sheriff apprehends two ‘most wanted’ on warrants
WAYNESBURG – Greene County Sheriff Brian Tennant announced Friday two more of the county’s 10 “most wanted” individuals featured on the Observer-Reporter website were apprehended.
On Thursday, a joint taskforce consisting of Greene County sheriff’s deputies, county probation officers and state police conducted simultaneous arrest attempts at two addresses where Brandon Vanbuskirk, 26, of New Freeport, was believed to be hiding.
Vanbuskirk was found at a trailer park in Richhill Township and taken into custody. He was placed in Greene County jail to await court proceedings.
County deputies were seeking Vanbuskirk since Nov. 26, when he failed to appear for a probation violation hearing.
Vanbuskirk pleaded guilty in September 2012 to a burglary at Mountain Energy garage in Aleppo and was sentenced to two months and eight days in jail and two years of probation.
Brian Ealy, 31, of Waynesburg turned himself into county deputies after discovering he was on the most wanted list. Ealy was processed by the court and released on bond.
Ealy pleaded guilty in September 2012 to fleeing or attempting to elude police and three summary violations and was sentenced to one year of probation.
He failed to appear in court for a probation violation hearing Jan. 14.
Tennant thanked all the agencies assisting in the top 10 investigations.
The 10 “most wanted” individuals was updated on the Observer-Reporter’s website Wednesday.
