Winter weather advisory issued for area

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for most of Southwestern Pennsylvania, including Washington County, beginning at 1 p.m. today and continuing to 1 a.m. Thursday and a wind chill advisory from 1 a.m. to noon Thursday. Rain is expected to change to snow by mid-afternoon as temperatures drop to below freezing. Two to four inches of snow is expected through this evening. Icy roads and hazardous travel conditions are expected.

Wing gusts of up to 40 mph could occur and wind chills will reach minus 10 to minus 15 by Thursday morning.
