Zumba classes to be held at fairgrounds
WAYNESBURG – The fitness program Zumba will return this spring with a morning session three days a week at the Greene County Fairgrounds in Waynesburg.
Sponsored by the Greene County commissioners and Greene County Department of Recreation, Zumba will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from March 24 through May 2 in the 4-H Building at the fairgrounds.
Individual classes can be attended at a cost of $8 per class. Anyone wishing to attend all 18 classes, however, can register at a discounted rate of $5 per class, for a total of $90. The early registration deadline is Friday, March 21.
Instructor Melissa Frameli will lead the classes. Attendees should wear sweat-absorbing clothes and good support shoes, such as cross-training or dance shoes, and bring water and towels.
The fitness program Zumba combines Latin and international music with dynamic, yet simple exercise moves.
Benefits of Zumba include efficient calorie-burning, muscle toning and cardiovascular improvement. Zumba is recognized by leading fitness organizations, including the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, the American Council on Exercise and Can-Fit-Pro, a Canadian fitness education organization.
