Police beat March 16
Crash reported: Matt Barnett, 38, of Bridgeville, was traveling in the southbound lane of Interstate 79 Wednesday when his vehicle veered off the west side of the highway and hit a guardrail, police said. Barnett was not injured.
Batteries, copper theft: Between March 1 and Friday, someone stole batteries and copper wires from a gas pipeline power station used by the MarkWest energy company at Buffalo Creek Road near Reed Road, police said.
Fleeing charges: Andre Gray, 27, of Canonsburg is being charged with fleeing from police after he failed to pull over for a traffic stop on I-79 northFriday about 1 p.m., police said. Gray led police on a pursuit that eventually ended on I-376. Gray was also charged with drug possession, as was a passenger, Christine Cain, 26, of Washington.
