Guns stolen in Cecil burglaries

1 min read

Two residential burglaries in Cecil Township occurred about the same time and in close proximity of each other Saturday afternoon, township police said. Handguns were stolen from both homes, and entry was made by breaking basement windows, police said.

Michael and Donna Levhulich, 16 Liberty Lane, reported their residence was entered through the basement window in the afternoon; missing were two handguns and jewelry. Two televisions were moved to the basement in what appeared to be an attempt to remove them from the house, but were left behind, police said. The burglar or burglars could have been interrupted when the couple returned home, police said.

Nearby, at 249 N. DePaoli Road, police said David Vanhornenbeck returned home to find a broken basement window. Missing were a handgun, a 19-inch flat-screen television, jewelry and credit cards, police said. He is conducting an inventory to determine if anything else is missing.

That burglary occurred between 1 and 7:46 p.m., when the homeowner reported the incident.
