Purse stolen: Danielle West of Governors Circle, Washington, told Chartiers police Saturday her purse was stolen while she was attending a play performance at Chartiers-Houston High School.

Driver faces charges: Tina D. Bowers, 59, of 1029 Royal Drive, Canonsburg, will be charged by North Strabane police with careless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol. She crashed her vehicle into the back of a vehicle driven by Kristen M. Mazzotta, 36, of 129 Smith St., Canonsburg, about 8:25 p.m. Mazzotta’s vehicle then hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Kenneth Varner, 52, of McAlisterville. Mazzotta, a passenger in her vehicle, Thomas Cornell, 23, of 205 Deerfield Drive, Canonsburg, and Varner were slightly injured. Bowers’ blood-alcohol content was more than 1 1/2 times the 0.08 limit presumed for intoxication.

Counterfeit traveler’s checks: Two men passed four counterfeit traveler’s checks at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Kmart, 4041 Washington Road, township police said. Each American Express check was valued at $100. The theft was reported to police at 12:49 p.m. Monday. Police are evaluating the surveillance tape.

Television stolen: Colleen Lucas, of 770 Michigan Ave., told South Strabane police Monday a 36-inch LED television was stolen from her apartment.
