Police beat March 21
Car damaged: Crystal Johnson of Dilliner told state police the rear door of her car, which was parked on Walnut Hill Road, was damaged between March 7 and 8.
ATV stolen: A Bobcat all-terrain vehicle and two 12-volt batteries were stolen from Jalflo Tree Service, Allentown, in a parking area along Bobtown Road between 5:40 p.m. March 17 and 6:50 a.m. March 18.
Car damaged: The side window was damaged on a 1979 Lincoln parked at 311 Tollgate Run Road between 3 and 7:30 p.m. Monday, state police said. The car is owned by John Carter of Waynesburg.
Pills stolen: Carol Sue Donaldson, 62, told state police prescription pills and cash were stolen from her home at Third Street, West Waynesburg, between 7 p.m. March 16 and 8 a.m. March 18.
Theft: State police are investigating the theft of gasoline and other items from a truck bed belonging to Lloyd Allen Ross, 47, of Sherman Avenue. The theft occurred between 2 p.m. March 15 and 7 a.m. March 18.
Purse stolen: Marjorie Jones, of 614 Mountainview Gardens, told state police she discovered her purse stolen from the kitchen area of her apartment March 16.
Faces charges: State police will charge a Morgan Township man with driving under the influence of alcohol and assaulting an emergency responder following a one-vehicle accident Tuesday in Jefferson Township. James Patrick Miller, 22, of Clarksville, was traveling east on Route 188, just west of Goslin Road, when his vehicle left the right side of the roadway. Police said Miller lost control of his Chevy Suburban and crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic where he struck a guardrail and then a utility pole. Miller’s vehicle overturned before coming to a stop. West Penn Power workers were called to de-energize power lines still attached to the downed pole to make sure it was safe for emergency responders who had to extricate Miller from his vehicle. Police said Miller was not wearing a seat belt. He was transported from the scene to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., for treatment. His condition was not available Thursday.
Harassment: Dee Dee Anderson and Jarret Roberts, no ages given, of Hillsman Street, Greensboro, were each cited for harassment after they allegedly became involved in a fight in their home at 7:25 p.m. March 8, state police said.
Vehicle damaged: A forklift was moved at a well site on Deer Lick Road between 2:30 p.m. March 7 and 12:30 p.m. March 8, state police said. A step on the forklift, owned by Smith Excavating of Cedar Bluff, Va., was damaged.
Theft: More than $2,200 worth of tools were stolen from a tool box in the bed of a pickup truck parked in a driveway at 391 Third Ave. between 10 p.m. Monday and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Waynesburg police said. The property is owned by Ronald Ealy of the same address.
Attempted theft: Two men apparently attempting to steal the battery from a car parked in a lot on Strawberry Alley fled at 1 a.m. Wednesday when police spotted them while on patrol, Waynesburg police said. Police saw the hood of a car open and when they checked the vehicle found wires near the battery had been cut. One of the men was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and the other a gray hooded sweatshirt and was between 17 and 21 years old. The car is owned by Sharon Fetterman of Waynesburg. Harassment: Thomas Stiles II, no age given, of Wana, W.Va., was charged with harassment and criminal mischief for allegedly striking Felisha Baucum of Waynesburg and smashing her cellphone at 2 p.m. March 8 on Kirby Road, state police said.
