1 min read

State Rep. Jesse White will host a public informational meeting to examine the problem of heroin abuse in local communities and discuss ways to combat the issue and find solutions.

The “Community Conversation on Heroin Abuse,” which is free and open to the public, will take place Thursday at Burgettstown Area Middle/High School, 104 Bavington Road, Burgettstown. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the event will begin at 7 p.m.

White said he is hosting the event in conjunction with state Attorney General Kathleen Kane’s office, and it will feature presentations by the Education and Outreach Office and Bureau of Narcotics to include facts surrounding heroin abuse and details on successful programs that have been put into place in other communities.

A question-and-answer session and a discussion on how to tackle the problem on a community level will follow.

For more information about the event, please call White’s office at 724-746-3677.
