Police beat March 26
Assault arrest: Trevor Alan Kearns, 29, of 1309 Main St., Bentleyville, was arrested Monday night by state police in Belle Vernon for allegedly hitting David M. Bailey, 34, in the face, torso and lower body with a baseball bat and tire iron. Bailey told police he went to 1315 Main to pick up his son when Kearns came at him from behind and struck him. Bailey was able to get the bat from him, but then Kearns reportedly hit him with the tire iron. Kearns was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, terroristic threats and harassment. He was placed in Washington County jail on $15,000 bond.
Disorderly, drunkenness charges: Lindsey Marie Jaeger, 21, of Easton, was charged this week by California police with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after she reportedly yelled obscenities at officers as they were breaking up a party in February in the 400 block of Green Street. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Harassment charges: Catherine Marie Brown, 33, of Washington, and a 17-year-old Washington girl were charged by state police with harassment after an argument reportedly turned physical Thursday at 80 Caldwell Ave., Canton. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Picked up on warrant: During a traffic stop at 10 p.m. Monday, police found that a passenger in the vehicle was wanted on a warrant from Allegheny County on drug-related charges, township police said. Cody Anderson, 21, of 416 Boone Ave., Canonsburg, was turned over to Allegheny County authorities.
Drug arrest: Melissa Ann Longo, 27, of Elizabeth, was arrested on drug charges stemming from a traffic stop Monday night by Charleroi Regional police in the 800 block of Meadow Avenue, Charleroi. Police said they found a scale in the glove box of the vehicle. At the station, police said Longo was checked by a female officer who found suspected cocaine hidden in her bra and two-and-a-half bricks of suspected heroin in her underwear. She was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of possession of heroin, cocaine and paraphernalia, as well as a stop sign violation. Longo was placed in Washington County jail on $20,000 bond.
Assault arrest: Corey Alan Maxwell, 30, of 195 Craft Creek Road, Morris, was arraigned via video before District Judge Ethan Ward on a warrant obtained by state police on charges of simple assault and harassment. He is accused of striking his 31-year-old girlfriend, Windy Baker, in the face and kicking her in the leg during a Dec. 30 confrontation at their home. Ward set bond at $5,000 on Maxwell, who was in Washington County jail since Mar. 13 on a bench warrant.
DUI crash: John Kemis, 66, of Snedecker Lane, Hickory, will be charged by Mt. Pleasant polcie with driving under the influence of alcohol after he crashed his vehicle just before 1 a.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Westland Road (Route 519). Kemis’ blood-alcohol content was more than double the 0.08 limit presumed for intoxication. A summons will be sent from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.
Warrant arrest: Drew J. McGuinness, 24, of 6255 Route 88, Finleyville, was taken into custody Monday by North Strabane police after it was determined he was wanted on an Allegheny County warrant. He was placed in Washington County jail on the warrant.
Mischief charge: Elias Jabbour, 37, of Carnegie was charged last week by state police at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino with criminal mischief after he allegedly poured water on a slot machine March 18, causing $725 in damage. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Theft charge: Bryan John Neff, 34, of Port Vue, was charged by state police at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino with theft after he allegedly stole three light fixtures valued at $510 from a restroom wall inside the casino. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Criminal mischief: A car parked in the rear of 4000 Washington Road was damaged on the roofline above the driver’s door, township police said. The incident was reported at 7:53 p.m. Monday.
Fugitive warrant: Holly Elizabeth Dean, 47, no known address, was arrested Monday night after Washington police said she was found driving a pickup truck reported stolen the previous day to North Strabane police. She reportedly identified herself as Beth Dubic, but police determined Dean is her correct name. They also learned she is wanted on a warrant for theft charges in Carrollton County, Ga. She was arraigned as a fugitive from justice by District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail without bond, pending extradition to Georgia.
Dog stolen: A miniature bulldog was stolen Monday afternoon while on a leash in front of its home at 823 E. Wheeling St. in Washington, city police said. The brown and white female dog named Berta was reported missing about 5 p.m. Another dog in the yard was left behind, police said.
Copper stolen: More than 300 feet of copper welding lead and a heavy-duty extension cord worth $650 were stolen from Job Fab Inc. at 295 Meadow Ave. in Washington about 8 a.m. Monday, city police said.
