1 min read

A young boy was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital Wednesday night after he was attacked by several dogs on the 600 block of Thompson Ave., in Donora.

Donora police Officer William Dennison said he was on patrol Wednesday about 6 p.m. when he saw a young boy being attacked by six dogs. Dennison said he stopped his patrol car and grabbed the boy from the pack. He said he saw a woman he knew and took the boy inside her home.

Dennison said he also had to grab a woman from the pack and took her to the home until paramedics could arrive.

Dennison said pepper spray was used, and none of the dogs were injured.

The woman was taken by ambulance to a Pittsburgh hospital. The names of the boy and the woman were not released, and Dennison said he was not aware of their condition.

Dennison said the attack happened in the yard of the dogs’ owner. A criminal investigation is ongoing and charges are possible.

Animal control was called to the scene.
