Assault arrest: Michael Wood, 50, of 434 Blue Jay Drive, Cecil, was arrested Friday by Cecil police for allegedly assaulting his wife, Jeanie Wood, following an argument at their home. He is accused of grabbing her by the neck and choking her. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Disorderly, resisting charges: Nicholas Larkin, 22, of 519 Castner Ave., Donora, was arrested Saturday afternoon by Donora police after allegedly causing a distrubance when police were called to a neighbor dispute near his home. When police tried to take him into custody, he allegedly struggled with the officer. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Indecent assault charge: Antonio A. Gentile, 35, of 1 Whitehall St., Marianna, was arrested by state police on charges of aggravated indecent assault and simple assault after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman Saturday in Marianna. He allegedly grabbed her by the neck, threw her to the ground and assaulted her. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
Firearms charges: State police in Washington charged Brennan Baggus, 21, of 34 Baggus Lane, Claysville, as a person not to possess a firearm and possession of a concealed firearm without a license. Baggus was arrested during a traffic stop on West Chestnut Street, North Franklin, at 8:28 p.m. Friday. Baggus was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and released from Washington County jail after posting $5,000 bond.
Criminal mischief: David C. Leach of Nottingham Forest Drive, Nottingham, had his mailbox damaged at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, state police in Washington reported.
Identity theft: A township resident told police he called the Internal Revenue Service for an unrelated matter and was told his federal income tax already had been filed using his Social Security number and that an $8,500 tax refund had been deposited in a bank account that was not his, township police said. The incident was reported at 11:55 a.m. Friday.
Two charged: Amarri Nicole Savage, 24, and Travon L. Loveings, 25, both of Pittsburgh, were arrested Saturday by South Strabane police after they allegedly stole items from Saks Fifth Avenue Off Fifth, Tanger Outlets. Store security reportedly saw Savage putting items in a shopping bag. Loveings allegedly stole shoes and then took items from Savage and put them in a bag. When confronted, Loveings allegedly threw the shoes at security officers. The two were stopped in a vehicle on Racetrack Road. Both were arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward. She was released on her own recognizance. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Man charged in knife thefts: South Strabane police said an East Washington man severely cut his hand after stealing eight hunting knives from Ace Sporting Goods at 462 Washington Road last month. Police said they found Christopher J. Wall, 31, of 375 N. Wade Ave., walking along Route 19 March 25. They said they stopped him after three knives had fallen on the ground behind him. Police said Wall, who was bleeding from a cut on his thumb, was holding five more knives and various other merchandise worth a combined $474. Wall faces charges of retail theft, trespassing and receiving stolen property.
One injured in crash: William L. Rosenburg, 44, of Charleroi, suffered a minor injury when he crashed his car on Interstate 70 while traveling west near the south junction exit in South Strabane Township shortly after 6 a.m. Monday, state police said.
Warrant arrest: Anthony L. Henderson, 27, of 1795 Park Ave., North Franklin Township, was arrested Sunday on a warrant for allegedly possessing heroin and paraphernalia Oct. 26 at McDonald’s, 999 Jefferson Ave., Washington police said. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Forgery charge: Shane M. Nugent, 23, of 110 Poplar St., Pittsburgh, was charged Monday by city police with forgery and identity theft for allegedly attempting to pass a forged prescription for hydrocodone at the Medicine Shoppe on Jefferson Avenue Jan. 27.
Vandalism: Several people reported to city police that their vehicle windows had been broken within the past four days. The incidents happened on West Walnut Street, East Chestnut Street, Hall Avenue, Woodland Avenue and Locust Avenue.
Assault: Brennan Baum, 25, of Washington, reported to city police that he witnessed a man assaulting another man while driving past the 10 block of East Railroad Street about 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Baum said he got out of his car, tried to break up the fight and was knocked unconscious. He said he suffered cuts on his head and face in the assault, and told police a firearm was missing from his vehicle. Police have no suspects.
Burglary: City police said the Genesis Center at 87 East Maiden St. was broken into about midnight Sunday. Tammy Richards told police she heard a loud bang but saw no one inside. A rear window and vending machine were both broken, and only candy bars appeared to be missing.
