A Charleroi woman is facing accusations she took her three grandchildren with her while dealing heroin Tuesday in neighboring North Charleroi.

Charleroi Regional police charged Brenda Pelzer, 52, of 517 Washington Ave., with selling a confidential informant $75 worth of the drug after texting the informant that she would be bringing her grandchildren along for the exchange. Police said the deal, which allegedly occurred about 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue, involved eight stamp bags of heroin.

Police arrested Pelzer and said they found two additional stamp bags of heroin in one of her pants pockets.

Pelzer is charged with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession, criminal use of a communications facility and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She is in Washington County Jail on $100,000 bond set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
