Community cleanup planned in Washington

1 min read

Washington residents who want to spruce up their neighborhoods are invited to help with the city’s second annual cleanup event planned for Saturday.

People who want to participate, including nonresidents, can pickup gloves, safety vests and garbage bags at City Hall during normal business hours this week.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., although residents can clean up their neighborhoods at any times that are most convenient to them.

People can deposit their filled garbage bags at Dumpsters located at St. Paul’s Church at 16 Ridge Ave., the 8th Ward playground at Baird and Hoge avenues, and the Tylerdale fire station at 195 E. Wylie St.

A list of locations where tires can be recycled is available at City Hall.
