Office building proposed in Union Township

1 min read

Union Township supervisors will reconvene a public hearing next week to consider a zoning change requested by a township man and woman who want to construct a small office building along Route 88, across from a Giant Eagle store.

Jason Jaki and Gina Latona of 54 Holman Road are asking the township to change the property’s zoning from residential to commercial in order to construct the 75-foot-by-40-foot building with three offices, township records state.

Jaki and Latona said in their application for the zoning change that the building would create jobs in what already is a business district and “encourage new growth.”

The township planning commission voted unanimously Jan. 23 to recommend the supervisors approve the zoning change. The hearing will resume at 6 p.m. May 12 in the township building at 3904 Finleyville-Elrama Road.
