Police beat May 7
Arraigned on warrants: Timothy Brian Adams, 30, who lists addresses in Bentleyville and Clarksville, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Ethan Ward on two sets of charges filed by state police. Adams was charged with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing jewelry valued at $11,055 from Mary Ann Montgomery and jewelry valued at $900 from Nicole Sachek in March. After stealing the items from their home on Brush Run Road in Amwell, he reportedly sold Montgomery’s jewelry for $1,279 and Sachek’s for $160 at pawn shops. He also was charged with possession of heroin and paraphernalia. Ward set bond at $60,000 on Adams, who is in Washington County jail on other charges.
Vehicle damaged: Paul Tipping, 210 Johnson Road, Bentleyville, told Southwest Regional police Sunday vandals damaged his pickup truck and wrote obscenities on the windows.
DUI, underage drinking: William Enlow Vance III, 20, of 91 Chapel Hill Road, Claysville, was charged Friday by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol, minor driving under the influence of alcohol and underage drinking. Police were called April 23 after he was found passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle in the middle of the intersection of Rural Valley Road and Main Street, Blaine. His blood alcohol level was more than three times the 0.02 percent limit for anyone under the age of 21. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Corruption, assault charges: Matthew E. Toland, 39, of 405 Moon Road, Washington, was charged Friday by state police with corruption of minors and indecent assault after he allegedly fondled a girl during spring 2007 at a Buffalo home. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Heroin bust: Patti Bahl, 39, of 418 Lincoln Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records state. Police accuse her of having one brick and 16 stamp bags of heroin when they picked her up on a warrant from Westmoreland County about 3:40 a.m. March 29. She is in Washington County jail on $35,000 after being processed in the case Monday before District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Three arrested: Edwin A. Younkin, 50, Tina Brewer, 43, and Julia Vitori, 74, all of whom were last known to reside at 711 Washington Ave., Charleroi, are charged by Charleroi Regional police with possession of drug paraphernalia, court records state. Police accuse them of leaving behind 8 empty heroin stamp bags and hypodermic needles when there were evicted from that apartment. Brewer and Younkin are in Washington County jail, each on $35,000 bond sets by District Judge Larry Hopkins. Vitori is free on unsecured bond.
Club cited: The operators of the Society of Mutual Help United Italy, 514 Eighth St., Charleroi, were cited last week by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for failing to have the manager complete alcohol management training.
Fire investigation: The state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of a suspicious fire early Sunday at a group home, owned by Linda Flaherty, at 152 Valley Road, Chartiers police said. The small fire was quickly extinguished.
Money stolen: Erin Taylor Readerbaugh, 360 Cherry Ave., told Chartiers police Monday that $180 was stolen from her locked vehicle.
Treated for carbon monoxide: Rebecca Hawkins, 736 Regent St., was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment of possible carbon monoxide poisoning Saturday, Chartiers police said. Township firefighters did detect some carbon monoxide. Columbia Gas also was contacted.
Knife at school: Coree Ayala, 20, of Vestaburg, was charged last week with having a weapon on school property in a private criminal complaint by Bethlehem-Center school police after he was found with a knife at the high school April 8. He went to the school after not attending classes for some time to see if he had to again enroll. The officer believed there was a probation warrant for Ayala. The knife was found when he was searched. Also found were three lighters and a pack of cigarettes. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Two charged: Terry Lynn Tosi, 43, of 18 Nicholls Lane, Somerset, and Ashley Lynn Crouch, 22, of 2100 Route 481, Monongahela, were each charged by state police stemming from an incident Thursday night at Tosi’s home. Tosi was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after struggling with troopers trying to take her into custody. Crouch was charged with hindering apprehension and disorderly conduct for reportedly trying to pull Tosi away from the trooper. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Harassment charges: Cody Rogers, 20, and Heather Marshall, 23, both of Washington, will each be charged with harassment by state police stemming from a fight Monday on Vista Valley Road, South Franklin. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Warrant arrest: Nathaniel Deshawn Wilson, 32, of Wilmerding, was arrested Monday on a warrant obtained by South Strabane police on charges of unlawful restraint, simple assault, and terroristic threats. He was accused of forcing his way into the Glenn Street home of Dasha Brewer, assaulting her and not allowing her to leave Jan. 28. He was arraigned before Senior District Judge Jay Dutton and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Counterfeit money: A fake $20 bill was passed Monday at Sam’s Club, Trinity Point, South Strabane police said.
Man jailed: Joseph M. Jankowski, 22, of 984 Jefferson Ave., Washington, is charged by city police with risking a catastrophe and reckless endangerment, accused of lighting two smoke bomb fireworks in an elevator at Crumrine Towers, 100 S. Franklin St., court records state. He is in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond after being arrested and arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Theft report: Copper piping was reported stolen Monday from a building a 65 Woodland Ave., city police said.
