Waynesburg holds cleanup days
WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg Borough residents will have a chance to dispose of unwanted household items, including electronics and tires, during the borough’s annual spring cleanup days Thursday through Saturday.
On those days, between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m., residents can bring items to the borough street department compound on First Street. The borough also will pick up items at a resident’s home at a cost of $25 for a half of a dump truck load and $50 for a full dump truck load.
Electronics will be accepted including computers, printers and accessories, televisions, remote controls, microwave ovens and cellular telephones. Other items that will be accepted include furniture, mattresses and building materials.
A fee of $2 will be charged for each passenger or light truck tire. The fee for larger tires is $15.
Hazardous materials, paint and items containing Freon will not be accepted. Items in which the Freon was removed and are properly tagged, will be accepted.
Other items that will not be accepted include household garbage, grass, leaves and branches; grass, leaves and branches are regularly picked up at a resident’s request.
