Carmichaels adult education class expanded by Community Action

1 min read

Community Action Southwest Adult Education Program has expanded its schedule in Carmichaels, Greene County, to assist those 17 or older in obtaining a GED or to hone their skills to secure employment or attend trade school or college.

Effective immediately, classes are being offered from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursdays in a classroom at Carmichaels Senior Center, 100 Nemacolin Road.

Pennsylvania-certified instructors work with students to determine their appropriate levels and establish weekly class schedules.

Students also partner with a trained case manager who will work with them on job development and school or college enrollment procedures.

In addition to the offerings at the Carmichaels site, a full schedule of classes is taught every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Greene, Mon Valley and Washington CareerLink sites.

Community Action Southwest also offers classes at its Washington office until 7 p.m. Thursdays and at its Burgettstown office on Tuesday afternoons.

The Community Action Southwest Adult Education Program is part of the agency’s WORKS initiative. Additional information and registration for classes is available by calling 1-877-814-0788, extension 539.
