1 min read

NEMACOLIN – A suspected marijuana growing operation was found at a residence on Sherman Avenue in Nemacolin Thursday.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department and Cumberland Township Police officers were at the residence on a warrant detail when the homeowner gave permission for a search.

The person being sought was not located, but 50 plants and several pieces of equipment used to grow plants were found in the basement and seized.

Kimberly Ann Jones of 437 Sheridan Ave., Nemacolin was arrested at the scene for a probation violation.

The items seized as evidence were turned over to the state’s crime lab for analysis. Cumberland Township Police Chief Craig Miller said it could be a couple of months before results are returned.

His department continues to investigate and Miller said he anticipates charges will be filed against multiple people as a result of the investigation.
