• Action: The school board opened the position of solicitor. The board also approved offering an early retirement incentive to Act 93 administrative employees.

• Reports: Washington County library representatives and Dr. Dennis J. McCarthy, director of Western Area Career and Technology Center, gave presentations highlighting the programs and activities available at their facilities.

• Other: The board welcomed new director J. Frank Golsky. Golsky taught sixth-grade social studies for 40 years at Trinity before he retired, and served as a substitute teacher.

“It seems very strange being on the other side now,” said Golsky. “This keeps me connected to the school, which I felt I needed to do.”

• Next meeting: 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Trinity High School auditorium.
