“Canonsburg’s Got Talent” Results
Last Saturday evening, dancers, singers, a comedian and an illusionist duo stunned a crowd at Canonsburg Middle School auditorium, all in the name of helping raise money for local kids. This year’s “Canonsburg’s Got Talent” winners were Joelle Germeyer and Madeline Dalesio, performing “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better.”
The show featured eight acts selected by event organizers, and a soccer demonstration by the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. Headliners were Josh Knotts and Lea Teyssier, providing “extreme illusions and escapes”.
Money from ticket sales will go to renovate the National Guard armory into a Youth for Christ center. The silent auction, Chinese auction and 50/50 raffle will also aid to expenses. Planned updates to the armory include a new gymnasium, fitness center, recreation room and space for educational programs.
Attendees voted to select the winning duo, along with a panel of judges that included Washington County Commissioner Diana Irey Vaughan, former Commissioner Bracken Burns and the owners of Arthur Murray Dance Studio, David and Ashley Geidel. The audience, however, had the larger voice with 60 percent of the deciding vote.
