Pleaders sentenced in court

WAYNESBURG – A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty last week before Greene County Judge Farley Toothman and were sentenced:

Christopher Scott Smith, 34, of 135 Laurel Run Road, Waynesburg; offenses – aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person; a charge of attempted homicide and a second aggravated assault charge were withdrawn by the prosecution; on Oct. 24, Smith stabbed Joshua L. Arthur with a knife during a fight outside the Waynesburg Eagles Club; sentence – 11 ½ to 23 ½ months in jail, a consecutive 1 year of probation; $14,560 to be paid to the crime victim’s compensation fund; drug and alcohol and anger management assessments.

Carl Eugene Tedrow, 48, of 125 Hopkins Hollow Road, Spraggs; offenses – driving under the influence of alcohol and four summary violations; arrested March 1, 2012, Tedrow had a blood-alcohol level of 0.209 percent; sentence – 16 days to 6 months in jail; credit for 16 days served; $1,085 in fines, 50 hours of community service.

Christopher Michael Willham, 21, of 12 Route 88 Mobile Home Park, Carmichaels; offenses – harassment, criminal mischief, possession of drug paraphernalia; on Feb. 9, Willham was involved in an argument with his girlfriend; he broke the front door of the house; a marijuana pipe was found in his room; sentence – 1 year of probation, $300 fine, 90 hours of community service.

John Phillip Jordan Jr., 38, of 205 River Ave., Masontown; offenses – DUI, second offense; 16 summary violations; arrested June 8, Jordan had a BAC of 0.143 percent; sentence – 120 days to 6 months in jail, $2,210 in fines, 50 hours of community service.

Henry Allen Kowalewski, 44, of 132-A Schroyers Lane, Carmichaels; offenses – DUI and seven summary offenses; arrested Sept. 15, Kowalewski had a BAC of .109 percent; sentence – 48 hours to 6 months in jail, $700 fine, 100 hours of community service.

Richard R. Schaum, 47, of 219 Plant Road, Bobtown; offenses – DUI and three summary violations; arrested Dec. 21, Schaum had a BAC of 0.159 percent; sentence – 48 hours to 6 months in jail, $575 fine; 25 hours of community service.

Christopher D. Moyers, 31, of Bobtown; offenses – fleeing or attempting to elude police, 10 summary violations; on June 20, 2012, Moyers failed to stop his vehicle for police who were attempting to pull him over for a traffic violation; sentence – 30 days to 18 months in jail, $1,500 in fines, 125 hours of community service.

Brittany N. Ewing, 25, of 414 Club Road, McClellandtown; offenses – theft and receiving stolen property; on July 7, Ewing stole jewelry from the home her ex-boyfriend’s grandparents; sentence – 11 days to 23 ½ months in jail, credit for time served, $1,800 in restitution, 75 hours of community service.

Bruce Alan Bundy Jr., 26, of 51 Meadowbrook Acres, Parkersburg, W.Va., offenses – forgery, receiving stolen property, two counts of theft; on March 30, 2012 he cashed a forged stolen check for $600 from his former employer; on July 2, 2013, he sold a drill that had been stolen from a former employer to Waynesburg Gold and Coin Exchange; on Nov. 20, 2013, he stole $100 from another employee’s purse at the Waynesburg Pizza Hut; sentence – 10 days to 23 ½ months in jail; $500 fine, 50 hours of community service, restitution.
