Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority will flush hydrants in Franklin Township this week. Customers may experience a temporary drop in pressure, loss of pressure or discolored water.
Cleanup days are under way in Gray Township through June 7. A dumpster is available for residents at the township building, 201 Stringtown Road. Items not acceptable are household trash, paint, batteries, oil, combustible liquids, lumber, concrete building blocks and lawn debris. Large appliances are accepted in “as is” condition . They are to be placed along side the dumpster. Hours for drop off are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
A community dinner will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday in the social hall of the Rogersville United Methodist Church. The meal will include ham, parsley potatoes, green beans, applesauce, dessert and drink. Dinner is free and donations are accepted. Carry out is available and everyone is welcome. The annual flea market and rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 3 and 4 at the Clarksville Area Community Center, 524 East Street, Clarksville, behind the Clarksville Post Office. Lunch and a bake sale will be available both days. Proceeds benefit Clarksville Area Lions Club.
Greene County Council on the Arts is sponsoring a bus trip June 22 to a Pittsburgh Pops Concert, Luck Be a Lady: Megan Hilty Sings Sinatra and More. The program will include many of Sinatra’s songs as well as Broadway classics “Almost Like Being in Love,” and “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend.” In addition to the concert ticket and bus transportation to the show, the price includes a catered dinner served in the Overlook Room at Heinz Hall prior to our return to Waynesburg.
