Trinity to hold special meeting

1 min read

Trinity Area School Board will hold a special meeting tonight, possibly regarding the future of Superintendent Paul Kasunich.

He has been on a paid suspension since he was arrested Feb. 2 in Ohio Township, Allegheny County, for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Kasunich was admitted to the state’s Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program on May 16. First-time offenders who successfully complete the 12-month probationary ARD program can have charges against them dismissed and their records expunged.

The school board held off on taking action regarding Kasunich pending an investigation by Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky, special counsel it hired in February, and the outcome of Kasunich’s case.

School board President Jennifer Morgan would not comment on the reason for meeting and Assistant Superintendent Michael Lucas was unavailable Tuesday.

The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
