The annual flea market and rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 3 and 4 at the Clarksville Area Community Center, 524 East Street, Clarksville, behind the Clarksville Post Office. Lunch and a bake sale will be available both days. Proceeds benefit Clarksville Area Lions Club.
Greene County Veterans Affairs will hold a veterans’ outreach at 10 a.m. June 3 in the Bobtown Senior Center. Veterans can make an appointment or stop by to learn about services, including pension, compensation, disability, health care, life insurance, funeral and burial claims and retroactive benefits, said Dalene Watson, office director. Cornerstone Genealogical Society will hold its family picnic at 6 p.m. June 10 in the barn at the Greene County Historical Society Museum. Prizes will be awarded in a whistling contest. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a covered dish and call the log courthouse at 724-627-5653 for reservations.
Oak View United Methodist Church will hold its annual Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to noon June 16-20 for kids 3 years through youth. The theme, “Jungle Safari,” will offer Bible study, singing, games and snacks. The closing program will be held at 7 p.m. June 20. There will be a special recognition of the 50th anniversary of this VBS, which began at the Coal Lick Methodist Church in 1964. Former students, teachers and friends are invited.
