ROGERSVILLE – West Greene Area Lions Club has named three students, Ashley Coss, Brooke Gipson and Brittany Lynn Gorby as its outstanding students of the month.

Coss, daughter of Tom and Ellen Coss of New Freeport, is a member of the Student Government Association, SADD and received a national honor student award.

Outside of school, she is a volunteer firefighter, is a first aid/CPR/AED instructor and volunteers at her church’s nursery and Vacation Bible School.

Coss plans to attend Edinboro University and major in social students with the goal of becoming a history teacher.

Gipson, daughter of Angie Gipson of Graysville and Jason Gipson of Warren, Ohio, is a member of the Spanish and science clubs.

She was vice president of her class for the 2013-14 school year and has been secretary of the Spanish club.

She has volunteered with blood drives at the school, and received an award for 10th grade academic achievement.

Gipson would like to attend Kent State University and major in nursing.

Gorby, daughter of Larry and Tracy Gorby of Aleppo, is a member of the Spanish and science clubs.

She does community service at the Aleppo Brethren Church and with American Red Cross blood drives.

She also has received several awards through the Challenge Program and was treasurer of her class for the 2013-14 school year.

Gorby is undecided on a college.
