Washington woman charged with child endangerment

1 min read

A Washington woman was charged last week by state police with endangering the welfare of children after an 11-month-old boy suffered a fractured skull in a fall at an independence Township home earlier this year.

Pamela Rascoe, 48, of 806 1/2 Broad St., is accused of leaving the boy unattended on May 5 in a loft of a home at 20 Reed Road. The loft overlooks a kitchen and is not secured by a railing, police said. The boy fell from the loft onto a kitchen counter and then the floor.

The infant was flown to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC for treatment.

Rascoe is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Oct. 28 before District Judge Ethan Ward.
