A Chartiers Township man was arrested Wednesday night by township police after he allegedly pointed a handgun at a Hickory woman who had come to his home to check on his girlfriend.

Nicholas Allen Gervasio, 33, of 139 Fourth St., was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Police were called to the home on Fourth about 6:40 p.m. Terri Laurick, 45, of Hickory, told Chartiers police she had gone to the residence to check on her friend, Brandy Alderson.

Laurick told police she was concerned because she had not heard from Alderson, 32, for several days. She also told police she was worried because Gervasio had assaulted Alderson in the past.

When Laurick arrived at the home, she said a laser sight was pointed at her by Gervasio, who was inside his home. Alderson came out of the house and got into Laurick’s vehicle to talk with her. Laurick said Gervasio came out of his home and onto the porch carrying three guns.

Laurick said she was partially in her vehicle when she saw Gervasio point a small, black handgun with a laser sight at her. She said he also was shouting obscenities, telling her Alderson was OK and she should leave.

Police said Alderson got out of the vehicle and went back inside the house with Gervasio. Laurick left to call police. She told police she feared for her life and also was concerned about Alderson’s welfare.

Police recovered a Smith & Wesson .380-caliber handgun with a laser sight in the living room, along with two other guns.

Gervasio was placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Oct. 15 before Mark.
