‘March for Peace’ planned in Washington
The third annual “March for Peace” in Washington will begin Saturday morning on Washington & Jefferson College’s campus.
The march organized by the CommUNITY group will start at 10 a.m. at McMillan Hall’s lawn and include several speakers from various organizations.
Washington Mayor Brenda Davis, Washington School District Superintendent Roberta DiLorenzo and W&J President Tori Haring-Smith are among the dignitaries who will speak before the walk.
Students at Washington Park Elementary also wrote essays about “Building a Better Washington” in preparation for the march.
Participants are encouraged to wear yellow for the event.
The march attracted about 350 people last year.
